There's more than just 'inspiration' for me in this post.

This creative - designer, Tomás Peña (Espaun256), started his way not only in the same city than me, but also in the same small agency and even in the same desk -with the slower PC ever-.
But that place wasn't challegeable enough for him. It was 2003, and one year later he left this city to start over in Madrid and afterwards he moved to Los Angeles. There he created really high-level stuff for brands like Nokia, Playstation and MTV. Impressive.

3 years after that, with no idea of what I was doing in my mind, I started my training in that agency as my first contact with the advertising life. Since I heard about his story, I knew that it was possible to do something different than just stay there in that desk for ages.
And now, after my first amazing MiamiADschool year, while Im waiting for the new experience in the States, I know I was right. Im in my own way.

I almost can't believe that is sunday and Im again working at school...

That's exactly what I was doing one year ago. Hell no, not the bike, the goddam Guitar Hero!

Es poner a Bruce Lee un spot porque sí... pero no deja de ser curioso por ello. Llega de parte de Illegal Advertising, la misma gente de la campaña de Motrin. El Ad-mundo es un pañuelo.

'Requiem for a dream' está en my list. 'The Fountain' no me dejó nada claro. ¿Qué pasara ahora con 'The Wrestler'? Mickey Rourke y Marisa Tomei en lo último (aunque está en medio de 'The Fighter') de Darren Aronofsky.

Sorpresa sorpresa, los personajes de Madmen en twitter. Consecuencias de la fanfiction que, en su momento -hace como 2 meses-, la AMC (cadena propietaria) no se tomó con mucho sentido del humor. Tras un amago de cierre de las cuentas y las protestas de los twitterfans, todo volvió a la 'normalidad' para permitir que los usuarios continuaran fantaseando sobre las vidas de Peggy, Peter & cia. Los auténticos guionistas estarán encantados (o no?) o_O.

La pregunta de la semana es: si en la Miami no somos capaces de encontrar 5 horas al día para dormir, de donde vamos a sacar tiempo para ir a Berlín, Londres o Amsterdam?. Photoshoot tras photosoot, el trimestre aleman se va acabando, con nieve y/o lluvia 24x7, y todavía sin noticias del próximo destino...

Me voy a la Miami que llego tarde, por cierto. :-/

Tengo que tirar hoy las fotos de desnudos y unas para el nuevo brief en apenas 4 horas. A ver como nos las arreglamos. Un poco de inspiración por aquí:

Lunes bastante soso para lo que ha sido la última semana. Con Guest speaker incluido, hoy presentando a Christian Stegeman de "Innocent" en Alemania (nada de agencia, es una empresa de bebidas ecológicas). Interesante su campaña "the big knit", una sencilla idea que salió adelante ha base de...gorritos. Parece mentira que algo tan simple les saliera tan bién, y que esas señoras puedieran tejer a ese rítmo. Más rápido que las manos de algunos en el teclado del Mac.

En Twitscoop aparecían esta tarde en letras enormes las palabras "Motrin Ad Makes Moms goes Mad". Y mira por donde, me ha salido una campaña viral ('Mom-alogue') que usa a twitter como herramienta principal. Ya estaban tardando. ¿Los resultados? Mis 'fuentes' hablan de Brand Awareness gratuito. Por la red se comenta que ni los creadores esperaban ese nivel de respuesta. Veremos.

Al final, ni fotografía de desnudos, ni trabajar en el portfolio ni visita a Amsterdam a ver Justice, ni nada de nada. Todo cancelado por una presentación de cliente que nos ha tenido sin dormir prácticamente la última semana entera. Al menos tuve tiempo para ver mis podcasts atrasadas en el Itouch durante todos los viajes de metro que hice de un lado a otro. Este spot de Stewie & Charlie Brown me salió entre Mundsburg y Denhaide, por si os intersa el dato. :-)
